Project brief - The Rajawas Resort is envisioned as a sanctuary where human connection with nature is prioritized, creating a harmonious blend of architecture and the natural environment. By offering immersive outdoor activities like hiking trails, yoga sessions, and tranquil relaxation spaces, guests can escape the stresses of modern life and reconnect with the beauty of their surroundings. The resort aims to foster rejuvenation through seamless indoor-outdoor integration, celebrating nature at every touchpoint.
Design process - The design process for Rajawas Resort involved a thorough site analysis to leverage topography, climate, and natural features for optimal human-nature interaction. Conceptual development focused on balancing open and enclosed spaces, while spatial planning ensured privacy, natural light, and ventilation. Sustainability was prioritized through the use of local materials, natural cooling methods, and water-efficient landscaping. The design also emphasized creating intimate and rejuvenating spaces for a holistic user experience.
Design description - The design of Rajawas Resort prioritizes tranquility and a strong connection to nature. The entrance features vaulted brick structures and strategically placed reception areas to create a warm and welcoming separation from the external environment. Accommodations include a luxurious presidential suite and guest rooms with introverted layouts, each featuring private courtyards that provide natural light, ventilation, and privacy. The spa and gym are located below ground for intimacy, complemented by water features and courtyards. A feature wall with curved structures supports the swimming pool, creating a dynamic interplay between spaces and guiding guests through a maze-like arrival. The design also integrates a contemporary step well for cooling and aesthetic appeal, a banquet hall opening to landscaped gardens, and lush landscaping with native flora to enhance the sensory experience.
